Swat: First meeting of City council Babuzai held

SWAT (By Haroon Siraj/ ENN) The City Mayor of Swat Shahid Ali Khan said that the city council will move ahead with a commitment to serve without any discrimination, beyond political affiliation and every possible step and effort will be made to keep the trust intact made by people of their Mayor.
He expressed his views while addressing the first meeting of City Council Babuzai. The first formal meeting of the City Council was held at Tehsil Municipal Administration Hall, Mingora. The meeting was attended by Tehsil Council members. Women members also attended the meeting.
The Mayor said that direct links with public will be established and open forums will be held, focusing on projects of public interest in Mingora City and Tehsil Babuzai. We will be moving forward regarding basic public issues under a comprehensive plan for Mingora City including clean and Green Mingora project, the Mayor added. On this occasion, the council members introduced each other and expressed their views in the meeting. Members also discussed some important issues including lack of clean drinking water, provision of more space for cemeteries, issues related to WSSC Swat and delay in launching of classes in the newly constructed School. The city Mayor assured the members that the issues would be resolved soon. The meeting was also attended by heads and representatives of district departments. The meeting also agreed to convene a second meeting soon after Eid.
