Accused involved in throwing ink on foreign minister belongs to religious group, Asif pardoned him
SIALKOT (ENN) Though the Sialkot based Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Khawaja Muhammad Asif has forgiven the accused who threw black ink on him (Khawaja Asif) during his address to the PML-N party workers at Sialkot city late at the last night (the night between Saturday and Sunday), the local police and the other security agencies on Sunday continued thorough investigation and interrogation of the accused, in this nasty incident.
The senior police officials conducted interrogation and the police officials were intending to register a case against the accused Faiz-e-Rasul, but Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif announced official “pardon” for the accused, by asking the Sialkot police to avert a case against the accused, in this regard.
Khawaja Muhammad Asif told the newsmen at Sialkot here on Sunday that he has forgiven the accused purely on humanitarian grounds. However, the police kept the accused under interrogation.
The local senior police officials told ENN that the accused Faiz-e-Rasul has termed the nasty incident of black ink throwing on Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif as a “good deed”.
The accused told the interrogators that he had been trying to throw a shoe or black ink on Khawaja Muhammad Asif for the last few months in Sialkot and he also missed three chances of throwing shoes of black ink due to the tight security on Khawaja Asif.
Accused Faiz-e-Rasul further told the police “This time I had committed to throw black ink on Khawaja Muhammad Asif at every cost even the cost of my life, as I wanted to punish him because of the PML-N government’s attempt to amend the Khatam-e-Nabuwat Law in the country”.
Police officials told that accused Faiz-e-Rasul has two more brothers. Their father Ghulam Meeraan was the Imam of a local mosque in Sialkot city’s congested Muzafarpur locality. This family belonged to Okara district and had shifted to Sialkot several years ago.
Police officials added that accused Faiz-e-Rasul was activist of Tehreek Labaik Ya Rasul Allah and was a worker in a local factory at Sialkot by profession.
Police said that police took the accused into custody by saving him from the charged and outraged PML-N workers present there after this incident. Police officials said that the further investigations were underway, in this regard.
