Police need to introduce preventive measures against mob lynching: SHRC


KARACHI (ENNS) The Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC) took strong notice of mob lynching of a 16 years old alleged delinquent Rehan S/O Zohair, of Khudadad Colony, Bahadurabad, Karachi. 

The Commission considers this brutal act as severe Human Rights Breach with long lasting psychological, legal and social consequences.

Furthermore, publication of such insidious content on social media has added to the trauma of the family of the deceased child and General Public.
The apprehension of the perpetrators has been made by the Police but the Commission stresses the Police department over the need to introduce a preventive mechanism where possibility of such mob justice could be averted.

The SHRC further stresses that PTA and other internet/media regulatory authorities must introduce a mechanism which could avoid publication of such graphic content on the social media which have severe psychologically traumatic impact on the General Public particularly children and cardiac patients.
