SIALKOT (By Abid Mehdi) In Sialkot, the Independence Day was celebrated as Kashmir Solidarity Day with traditional zeal and enthusiasm in Sialkot on Wednesday.
Main national flag hoisting ceremony held at the historical Sialkot Fort. The students of local schools presented Milli Naghmas.
Hindus celebrated National Independence -cum-Kashmir Solidarity Day during a special ceremony held at historical Hindu Temple namely Shawala Teja Singh Temple at Sialkot.
Local Hindu Leader Hakim Rattan Lal presided over these Jashan-e-Azadi Celebrations. They held their religious rituals, worshiped and also prayed for the national development, prosperity, peace and solemnity of Pakistan and freedom of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir from Indian yoke.
The Hindus distributed sweets as well.
On the other hand Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the Aug 14 is the day to remember those martyrs, who sacrificed their lives to protect this independence.
This day is dawning with the determination of Pakistani nation that Pakistan, with the grace of Allah Almighty, will remain forever.
She stated this while addressing the participants of Azadi Conference held at village Koobey Chak-Sialkot.
Dr. Awan said PTI was successfully implementing its agenda to make it a Pakistan as envisaged by the Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah (The Father of the Nation) and Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
