SIALKOT (ENN) The Ambassador of Germany in Pakistan Martin Kobler on Monday visited Sialkot international airport here. He highly hailed the Sialkot exporters for establishing this international airport on self-help basis besides providing the world class aviation and cargo facilities to the passengers at Sialkot airport.
German Ambassador also discussed in details the matters of mutual interest during an important meeting with the management of Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL). On this occasion, Chairman SIAL Khawar Anwar Khawaja gave detailed briefing to the visiting German Ambassador about the mega project of Sialkot international airport.
Earlier, while talking to the Sialkot exporters during his visit to several industrial units in Sialkot, the Ambassador said that Germany was keen to boost the mutual trade ties with Pakistan, pledging to make efforts to remove all the hurdles from the way of promoting the mutual trade between Pakistan and Germany. He stressed upon the need of making some effective joint efforts to boost mutual trade between Pakistan and Germany. He added that Germany will encourage the regular exchange of the mutual trade delegations between Germany and Pakistan.
In Sialkot, the German Ambassador showed keen interest in the production process of sports goods and surgical instruments there. German Ambassador assured to make all out sincere efforts to ensure the easy access of Sialkot exporters to European Union (EU) markets.
He said that both Germany and Pakistan have been enjoying good friendly and cordial trade relations and now the time was ripe to further strengthen these mutual trade ties, as all the things were moving to the right direction, in this regard.
German Ambassador revealed that the several more companies of Germany have shown keen interest to invest in Pakistan in different trade fields especially in energy sector.
The Sialkot exporters revealed that the Sialkot-made footballs, field hockey sticks, cricket gear, and boxing gloves are used in international games including the Olympics and World Cups. Most of the developed countries are importing surgical instruments from Sialkot. In leather products and textile sportswear, we excel in quality and style. Similar is the case with other items produced in Sialkot.
