ISLAMABAD (ENNS) The tenure of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has been extended for another three years, told sources.
“General Qamar Javed Bajwa is appointed Chief of Army Staff for another term of three years from the date of completion of current tenure.
The decision has been taken in view of the regional security environment,” said a statement from the PM office.
PM office did not share more details about his ending tenure.
However in past prime minister Imran Khan as PTI head had been opposing such extensions in Pakistan service system.
