Celebrating Women’s Day: Rallies, seminars, plays held in Karachi


KARACHI (ENN) Sindh Minister for Women Development Department (WDD) Syeda Shehla Raza has said that one should not understand women helpless and hopeless but should be rendered full equality and equity.

The Society, as a gesture should extend full cooperation to women folk in each field of activity in order to establish a beautiful equilibrium. Raza expressed this while leading a walk in connection with International Women’s Day.

Scores of women and girls marched from Sindh Assembly to Karachi and were chanting slogans in support of women.

The rally was organized by WDD Sindh in collaboration with NGOs Hands, SPO, Aurat Foundation, Legal Rights Forum, Madadgar, SRSO and other civil society organizations.

PMLF member Sindh Assembly Nusrat Saher Abbasi, Raheema Panhwar, Fareeda Tahir, Malik Tahir Iqbal, Aalya Shahid, Zia Awan, Dr Tanveed Ahmed, Samina, Khursheed Begum and others participated in the rally.

Moreover Tehreeke Niswan organized play led by Sheema Kirmani and others at Frere Hall Karachi; while different groups held seminar, rallies and festivals to celebrate the Women’s Day in the city.
