Eighty-five teachers honored for excellence on World Teachers’ Day

ZHOB: To mark World Teachers’ Day, the Deputy District Education Office organized a ceremony at Government Model Higher Secondary School here; celebrating the unwavering dedication and commitment of teachers across the district. During the event, eighty-five hardworking and devoted teachers were awarded appreciation certificates in recognition of their outstanding performance.
The ceremony was graced by Principal GBHSS Sheikh Musa Khan Mandokhel as the chief guest, while Degree College staff, Education Directorate officials, representatives of teachers’ associations, senior teachers, social figures, and journalists attended the event.
In his keynote speech, Deputy District Officer Abdul Latif Mandokhel said that the event aimed at paying tribute to those teachers who are committed to the noble profession of education.
He said that through their dedication, perseverance, and tireless services, numerous non-functional schools in remote areas have been made functional.
“Despite facing harsh conditions and limited resources, the teachers continue to perform their duties with remarkable devotion”, he lauded.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Degree College Abdul Rehman Ameen, Director System Analyst Mehmood Uyghur, Principal GBHSS Sheikh Musa Khan Mandokhel, President APCA Malik Sohbat Khan Mandokhel, Abdul Qadeem Mandokhel, Ex-president GTA Muhammad Ayoub Mandokhel, President GTA (Constitutional) Hassan Haqyar, Muhammad Tahir, Deewa Suhail Hariphal, and Sher Muhammad, paid glowing tributes to the teaching community.
“The teacher is not merely a transmitter of knowledge but also the torchbearer of moral guidance and character building,” they remarked.
Appreciating the recognition of hardworking teachers, the speakers said that in developed societies, teachers enjoy the highest social status, yet, unfortunately, in our society they always remain one of the most neglected segments. They lamented.
“The credit goes to DDO Abdul Latif Mandokhel for taking the commendable initiative of organizing such a graceful ceremony, the first of its kind in the district’s history,” they added.
The speakers further emphasized that the achievements of Zhob’s students at the national level are a reflection and result of their teachers’ tireless efforts. They urged the government to take effective measures to address the longstanding issues faced by teachers serving in far-off mountainous areas.
Meanwhile, President Bazaar Union Malik Gul Zaman Nasar, Daulat Khan Babukarkhel, and Sheikh Shah Nawaz Mandokhel presented traditional turbans and garlands to DDO Abdul Latif Mandokhel and Principal Sheikh Musa Khan Mandokhel. The event concluded with the distribution of appreciation certificates among 85 teachers, while the guests were presented souvenir.
