KARACHI (ENN) Sindh Minister for Labour and Human Resources Ghulam Murtaza Baloch has said that education is the basic right of the labourers’ children and we are trying to provide better education facilities to them.
This he said while presiding over a meeting here in his office here on Wednesday. S
Labour Sindh Abdul Rasheed Solangi and other officers also attended the meeting.
The meeting was informed that new workers model schools would be established at SITE Karachi, Jacobabad, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Noudero and Mirpur Mathelo; while workers intermediate colleges would be established at SITE Karachi, North Karachi, Korangi Karachi, Landhi Karachi, Ghotki, Hyderabad and Sukkur as well.
Provincial Minister Baloch added, ‘ Sindh Labour Department has taken initiatives to solve the issue of the workers’ residents and for the purpose many new labour colonies are being constructed ‘.
On this occasion, briefing the meeting Secretary Labour Rasheed Ahmed Solangi told that new labour colonies were being established in districts Bin Qasim Karachi, Ghotki, Kotri, Tando Muhammad Khan and Tando Allahyar, adding that overall more than eight thousands flats would be constructed in these new labour colonies. Provincial Minister Murtaza Baloch asked to maintain better infrastructure facilities in all labour colonies and flats.
He also asked to improve educational standard in all workers welfare Schools and colleges and maintain high quality education in these institutions. He said that it should be our aim that the children of the workers must not be workers but they should excel in the field of education and get better opportunities for progress in their future.
